The purpose of the SIDR Data Release Committee (DRC) is to review requests for secondary data analysis conducted for research purposes, using administrative datasets held by SIDR, with a focus on assessing whether proposed projects align with public interest and the Five Safes framework: safe projects, safe people, safe data, safe settings, and safe outputs – with particular attention to the ethical and appropriate use of data, privacy, and safe release of results.
The DRC meets regularly on the fourth Monday of each month, and project teams will be invited to attend the next available meeting. Following the meeting, our team will follow-up with project approval and/or clarification request documentation.
To be considered at an upcoming SIDR DRC meeting, Data Access Requests must be submitted at least three (3) weeks prior to the meeting date.
Please note that meetings may be cancelled or rescheduled with short notice. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. Submissions may be sent in advance of the deadline if ready. If you have any further questions, please contact us at sidr@upei.ca.
