The Data Access Application Package is used to request access to data. The Data Access Application Package contains two forms with sections that are described below.
- Feasibility Form (Section 1) should be completed and submitted first to determine if a project is feasible.
- Data Access Application Form (Sections 2, 3 & 4) should be completed and submitted only after a decision about feasibility has been reached.
To submit the forms and any supporting documentation, please email them to sidr@upei.ca with a descriptive subject line (e.g., “Feasibility Request_Applicant Name”).
Feasibility Form (Section 1)
Section 1: Project Feasibility and Data Access Quote Request
During the first step of the application process, please complete and submit only the feasibility form (Section 1 in the application package). The feasibility form will require you to describe your research question, methods, and requirements.
We will review your feasibility form to determine if your project is feasible and to provide you with a preliminary quote.
If your project is feasible and you decide to proceed, we will then invite you to complete and submit the Data Access Application Form (Sections 2, 3 & 4 in the application package).

Section 2: Users of the SIDR Secure Facility
In this section, only list project team members who will require in-person access to our secure facility.
Section 3: Requested Datasets
Please include all SIDR data holdings and date ranges requested for your project. If applicable, provide information about any external datasets that are required for project analyses.
Section 4: Requested Variables
In this final section, describe all variables needed to complete the project. Provide as many details as you can. Also, provide a rationale for accessing each variable (e.g., cohort description, predictor, outcome definition).
